Here is the Story and How it Began
THE ORIGINAL CHURCH
The Christian church began over 2,000 years ago when, as told in the Bible, the apostles were gathered together waiting and praying for what Jesus had called, “the promised of the Father”. Moments later they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues. This experience is known as the “Pentecostal experience”that first occurred on the “Day of Pentecost”- a Jewish festival day. The Bible gives many other examples of people receiving the Holy Spirit in exactly the same was demonstrating that this experience was normal in the early Christian Church.
Three hundred and sixty years after Pentecost, Chrysostom, Bishop of Constantinople wrote, “whoever was baptised in Apostolic days he straightway spoke in tongues for since on their coming over from idols without any clear knowledge or training in the scriptures, they at once received the Spirit for he is invisible, but God’s grace bestowed some sensible proof of his energy”. Miracles, healings, signs and wonders were an integral part of the church life for several centuries.
REVIVAL POWER LOST
In the year AD312 the Roman Emperor Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire. But as Christian principles were mixed with pagan ritual and idol worship, many fundamentals of the Christian faith including this Pentecostal experiences were lost. The churches quickly became lifeless and powerless. No healings, no miracles and no clear evidence of the Holy Spirit in the church. Church heads became less concerned with the original salvation message and became political.
They control governments and empires, ordered massacres and quickly rid themselves of dissenters. Right down through the ages however ordinary people continued to experience this infilling of the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in other tongues. Many were persecuted and even martyred for their faith.
THE GREAT REFORMERS
Martin Luther, great reformer of the 16th Century was known to have had the Pentecostal experience. He challenged the church leaders of the day on many issues. But at the centre was the issue of personal salvation itself. According to Sover, writer of the history of the Christian Church, “Dr Martin was a prophet, evangelist, speaker in tongues and interpreter in one person endowed with all the gifts of the Spirit”.
Similar experiences occurred amongst the Quakers, Pilgrims of Britain and other lesser known Christian groups. Wesley and other great men of God spoke of such things. Whilst many of the great revivalist enjoyed the Pentecostal experience, few of their followers have not done or seen the necessity for it.
THIS CENTURY
The early 1900s saw another great Christian revival. Thousands of men and women world-wide started receiving the Holy Spirit with the manifestation of speaking in other tongues. Many drew away from or were put out of their mainline churches and began what we now call “Pentecostal churches”in which the infilling of the Spirit with the sign of speaking in tongues was common. Tens of millions of people world-wide enjoy this experience today.
REVIVAL CENTRES FELLOWSHIP ORIGIN
A major Pentecostal movement began in Australia just after the Second World War with a number of new churches emerging. These churches drew large numbers of people from a wide cross section of the community – some from other churches and many with no church background at all.
From these beginning, assemblies in Victoria and South Australia aligned themselves in their common experiences and doctrine and the church grew throughout the country. Today there are over 100 assemblies throughout Australia and overseas including New Zealand, Great Britain, Europe, America, South Africa, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, West Papua and Papua New Guinea.
Revival Centres of Papua New Guinea
Revival Centres of Papua New Guinea Church was first established on the 01st of September 1982 in the remote Karaite village of Lumi District, Sandaun (West Sepik) province. The fellowship started when the first nine (9) people from Karaite village, were converted and got baptised (by full immersion) and received the Holy Spirit, with the Biblical evidence of Speaking in Tongues.
Revival Fellowships
The Revival Fellowship teaches that one receives salvation by repentance, water baptism by full immersion, and the receiving of the Holy Spirit. They preach the outward manifestation of a person who is filled with the Holy Spirit is to be found in the biblical experience of "speaking in tongues" as seen in Acts 2:4, Acts10:44.
REPENTANCE
To repent is to repair a wrong. The Bible tells us that there is none righteous (Romans 3:10). Having gone your own way, you have sinned, but now you have turned to Jesus Christ and have admitted or confessed this sin. The forgiveness of God is assured (1 John 1:9).
BAPTISM [BE BAPTISED]
Your restoration through the favour of a loving God is found through obedience. To be baptised is command of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19). The Bible teaching on Baptism is believers immersion, as illustrated throughout the world, and is not to be confused with unscriptural practice of sprinkling or christening. Baptism is a commandment to all believers (Acts 2:38). It is also evidence of true repentance and a good conscience towards God. (1 Peter 3:21).
THE HOLY SPIRIT
You are promised a wonderful experience with your Saviour. He will baptise you with the Holy Ghost and fire…. (Matthew 3:11). You are encouraged to receive this power (Luke 11:9-13). By reading and believing the many accounts of the Holy Spirit in the early Church, you will find great faith to claim this experience. You will speak in tongues as promised to all believers (Mark 16:17).

[Vs.38] Peter said to them, "Each one of you must turn away from your sins and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven; and you will receive God's gift, the Holy Spirit. [Vs.39] For God's promise was made to you, your children, and to all who are far away - all whom the Lord our God calls to himself."
I baptise you with water to show that you have repented, but the one who will come after me will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire. He is much greater than I am; and I am not good enough to carry his sandles.
[John 3:3] Jesus answered, "I am teling you the truth: no one can see the Kingdom of God without being born again." [Vs.4] How can a grown man be born again?" nicodemus asked. "He certainly cannot enter his mother's womb and be born a second time!" [Vs.5] "I am telling you the truth," replied Jesus. "No one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit."
[Acts 19:1] While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul travelled through the interior of the province and arrived in Ephesus. There he found some disciples [Vs.2] and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?" "We have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit, " they answered.
[Vs.9] But you do not live as your human nature tells you to; instead, you live as the Spirit tells you to - if, in fact, God's Spirit lives in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
[Vs.14] Those who are led by God's Spirit are God's Children. [Vs.15] For the Spirit that God has given you does not make you slaves and cause you to be afraid; instead, the Spirit makes you God's children, and by the Spirit's power we cry out to God, "Father! my Father!" [Abba Father]
[Vs.25] Then the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke to him. He took some of the Spirit he had given to Moses and gave it to the seventy leaders. When the Spirit came on them, they began to shout like prophets, but not for long. [Vs.26] Two of the seventy leaders, Eldad and Medad, had stayed in the camp and had not gone out to the Tent. There in the camp the Spirit came on them, and they too began to shout like prophets.
[Vs.16]Believers will be given the power to perform miracles: they will drive out demons in my name; they will speak in strange tongues; [Vs.18] if they pick up snakes or drink any poison, they will not be harmed; they will place their hands on the sick, and the sick will get well.
[Vs.5] When they heard this they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus. [Vs.6] Paul placed his hands on them, and the Holy Spirit came upon them; they spoke in strange tongues, and also proclaimed God's message. [Vs.7] They were about twelve men in all.

REVIVAL CENTRES PNG
Revival Centres Of Papua New Guinea (RCPNG) is a pentecostal church. We are affiliated with Revival Fellowships worldwide. We preach Salvation Message as found in the book Acts chapter 2 verse 38. We emphasise on the necessity for one to be born-again of water and the Holy Spirit.
RCPNG accentuate all believers to Repent, Be Baptised and Receive the Holy Spirit. John 3:5, Unless a man is born again of water and the Holy Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. In the Gospel of John, chapter 3 and verse 3 to 5, Jesus Christ the son of God Himself, emphasizes on the need for all believers to go through the Born-Again experience.

MIRACLES ARE FOR TODAY
A prominent phenomena inside our fellowship is the manifestations of the Holy Spirit. When believers are being baptised, they come out from the waters of baptism and receive the Holy Spirit, with Biblical evidence of Speaking In Tongues (Acts 19:2-6). Another consequential event is Divine Healing Power of God. A good number of our congregation members are people who were miraculously healed from all kinds of sicknesses. You can read their testimonies here.
GIFT OF TONGUES
[1 Corinthians 14:2] Those who speak in strange tongues do not speak to others but to God, because no one understands them. They are speaking secret truths by the power of the Spirit. [Galatians 4:6] To show that you are his children, God sent the Spirit of his son into our hearts, the Spirit who cries out, "Father, my Father." [Abba Father - speak in tongues].
The angel told me to give Zerubabel this messge from the Lord; "You will succeed, not by military might or by your own strength, but by my Spirit. [Vs.7] Obstacles as great as mountains will disappear before you.
Zechariah 4:6,7
"God's curse on anyone who does not obey all of God's laws and teachings." And all the people will answer, "Amen!" This scripture condemns mankind to demnation if they cannot obey God's laws and teachings.
Deuteronomy 27:26
God looks down from heaven at people to see if there are any who are wise, any who worship him. [Vs.3] But they have all turned away; they are all equally bad. Not one of them does what is right, not a single one.
